Job title: Adjunct Faculty, Online Course (MSHF 640 -Human Physiology and Adaptation; College of Arts & Sciences, Worldwide Campus) Company: Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Job description : Job Description We are currently hiring adjunct faculty to teach MSHF 640-Human Physiology and Adaptation. Course Description This course examines in depth the principles and critical elements of human physiology, to include how the human body maintains a steady state while adapting to outside conditions, a process called homeostasis. Included are human performance capabilities, challenges and adaptations in low and high-altitude/space flight, low-pressure and low-gravity environments, and other at-risk for human habitation environments. Specific topics include the physics of atmosphere, radiation environments, acceleration physiology, systemic physiological responses, sensorimotor interactions, environmental pathologies (e.g. circadian dysrhythmia, spatial disorientation, hypoxia, visual anomalies), and the effects of stimulants, disease and injury on human systems. Please note that ERAU policy requires that all adjuncts be physically located within the United States while working for the University, including during training. Presently, we are able to support work for new adjuncts from all U.S. states except California. ERAU does not support work from international locations with some limited exceptions for individuals who are residing and working from U.S. military bases. Qualifications Doctoral degree that has a dissertation, cognate, or 18 graduate credit hours in any of the Teaching Disciplines within the doctoral program will be deemed a Related Discipline. Significant levels of experience and responsibility in industry or government and experience in Human, Aerospace or Flight Physiology. Applicable Professional Certification Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Degrees Within the Teaching Discipline Physiology, Human, Flight, Aerospace Ergonomics, Physical, Cognitive Human Factors Engineering, Management Engineering Safety, Biomechanical, Biomedical Health & Safety Occupational, Environmental Safety Industrial/Occupational/Management/Science Medical/Medicine/Aeromedical Expected salary : Location : USA Apply Job!
